I need some pointers from those of you who have installed a motor.
I am trying to do this but need ideas on how to lift my engine up into the frame.

Home is my depot. Home I go with a 2x4. Back to home I forgot nails. Bought a saw too. Got a ruler out of the drawer, hey, I already had that one. Custom building block I go. Plant the height where you drag the bike over the engine. Shading! Did you measure well look key dare, IDK. Bolts lined right up like a door hinge hanging door.
Next suggestion.

How bout you put wheels under the wood frame? You can turn it how you want it and if need be, you can shim up a wheel.
One thing---IDK if the whole weight of the engine should rest on the oil pan. I have heard of owners jacking under there with a piece of wood to distribute the weight. I never trusted that.

Round two; Take your car 2 1/2 ton hand jack, which is 7.5" high with padding added. Steady the engine onto the jack padding. Crank the engine up like no bodies business is precision bolt aim like slides in you get the balance right. Wood chuck or floor jack... Floor jack is the quick and dirty.
Next Suggestion.
